Reminds me of a time I grabbed an iron without thinking to tack something onto a bit of equipment i was testing. The iron upset it and the power supply to the unit actually shut down, leading me to think i’d killed it somehow! Certainly one to watch out for

Dave, what if you just measure the resistance of the solder itself if it is the same thickness. Say a 1 foot piece of each. Would that tell you accurately the difference between them when applied?
