AD18 popup window

Since AD18, double clicking a part brings focus to property panel instead of opening a popup window for editing properties. Is there a way to restore this behavior? I feel it's hard to move mouse to the edge of screen every time to edit something. Also, default text box focus is different, so I can't just navigate and modify values as easy as before.

Not to my knowledge.  Move to side panels instead of pop up windows was one of the highlight in the presentation of what's new.
The note about ease of navigation might be worth mentioning  in the beta support forum.

Try undocking the Properties panel (right click on the Properties panel title bar), then move it  to a convenient location. It should work as a popup window now, if I understood your question right.
