Altium Designer is particular good example that its very good and easy to use user experience make you addict to it and it's hard to switch to another package.
Don't waste your time on a piece of software that you can't use it in the future if you don't have the commitment to buy it in the future.
But you ought to know some commercial PCB CAD package, even if expensive, as your employer will supply that to you.
That's why I'd say it's good to know something pro like OrCAD or Altium as well as free KiCad for homemade projects (that can go commercial, if needed).
Still, knowing the pro package might be more advantageous in the future.
