Still to this day I have problems with this stupid logical and physical designators and making changes to the schematic once you use multi-channel design feature :(

So now I need I need to create more space on a schematic sheet by moving some components in one schematic sheet to a new sheet but guess what happens ? The unique id changes as soon as you past the components on the new sheet and the pcb designators in faint small text disappear as soon as you recompile the project so the links between the schematic and pcb are broken and no longer exist !! How brain dead is this  :palm:

It appears that all of the connections between logical and physical designators are stored in the .annotation file but this is not updated when you do simple cut and paste components from one sheet to another. Also another issue I have always had with this is that when you add new components to the design the re-annotation will not work properly and create duplicate designators !!

Does anyone know the secret of how to do this or is it a case of don't do multi-channel design if you later need to modify the design :(

Regards
David

Wow! I can't believe there is an individual command specifically to do this but it seems to work ;)

Thanks
David
