Designators in child sheets?
« on: November 12, 2016, 10:47:42 pm »
I have a schematic with a hierarchical block in it. The block appears 3 times and is linked to a child schematic. When I annotate the project, the child sheet schematic will get treated as if it appears once, but in reality the parts should have a different designator in each instance.

How to do that?

Compile project.
Open the subsheet.
Click the tab along the bottom of the view: one for each channel.  You will find physical designators here.

On this view, you can also assign substitute parts for different variants (for that, you will need to set up project variants).

Or you can change them on the PCB and back-annotate.
