Export/Import/Copy Net Classes????.........
« on: November 03, 2017, 05:47:30 pm »
I have an Altium project which has a fair number of net classes defined.  They somehow accidentally got removed but it went unnoticed for a while and work was done on the layout.
So my situation is I have an old SVN commit ( a couple commits ago) of the project with all the Classes intact, and I have the current revision which has a lot of PCB changes but no Classes.

Anyone know how to Export/Import/Copy Net classes so I don't have to either recreate all of them (not realistic) or revert the PCB changes to go back to the design that still had the Classes intact?

Nevermind... This was a stupid question actually.
The issue was that the classes were defined in the layout and not in the schematic.  So when the layout got updated from the schematic, they got removed.  Learned my lesson and I'm defining the classes in the schematic now.  All is well.

FWIW, I don't think there's a proper way to do it -- which is a shame, as some classes (I'm fond of Pad Classes for one-offs like heatsink pads on some parts) are PCB exclusive, and it would be nice to have some way of passing that around.

As for improper ways, perhaps you can write a custom ECO, and use that to import changes?
