Lost all my PCB footprints?
« on: June 06, 2016, 04:33:14 am »
I was working on Altium and then all of a sudden my computer crashed and had to reboot. When I re-opened my project, I had to modify a component footprint that I created. When I opened the PCB library panel, all of my footprints are gone! When I view my PCB, I can still see my footprints and 3D models on the board, but all the footprints in the library somehow dissapeared....

Does anybody know a fix?

EDIT:
Nevermind, I managed to get it back by searching through the History folder!

Glad you managed to find the solution.
Just remember to backups your stuff. Most of my projects I use the SVN version control.

Remember to backup your stuff. What would happen to your projects if your computer explode? (aka stolen, burned, went to mars...)  :scared:

Step 0. Do you have automatic backups turned on?  (Tools/Preferences, Data Management, Backup, Auto save.  Note the path; change it to a more convenient place if you like.)
Step 1. Check the backups.  If you see a file, of the same name but with ".~(1)" numbers added on, with a newer "Modified" date, open it.
Step 2. Check that the file still looks right and all, then when you're satisfied, save it over the original project file.
