No prices in supplier data?
« on: January 07, 2018, 03:37:07 am »
Hi,
just playing around a bit with AD18. Worked quite good for now but I am stuck at a part that shouldn't be to hard at all - the prices from the supplier search don't show up. In my old AD16 that worked flawless after I logged into my accounts at the suppliers in the AD supplier options. Now I can't even find the option to log in to get the prices to show up. What am I missing here???
Thanks!
Greetings, Kai \ Ysjoelfir

Well, great. Now I had the great idea to export my AD16 settings and import them into AD18. Now Digikey doesn't even show up as a possible supplier anymore o.o I somehow get the feeling that I should stay with AD16.

Try to check "Include parameters from server checkbox":

Is checked. I can't even select a currency in the BOM. When I add manufacturers to parts they don't show any prices. So I guess the problem is to be found before the BOM generation.

Interesting. Everything else worked ok in my AD18 - including prices in supplier search. This was the only change I had to do.

Also what I always do, I never import settings from older AD versions. Maybe that also could be a problem. The other thing, what people sometimes have issue with is, if they do not check "USA" location in the Data Management -> Parts providers -> Altium Parts Options

Interesting indeed - I deleted AD18, reinstalled it, made sure that nothing gets imported, checked the checkbox at the BOM report, set the currency ONLY to USD, not EUR, and tried again - prices were there. Great. Why doesn't this work with Euro? I mean, if the option to get prices in Euro is available that should at least work, shouldn't it?
However, now that that is sorted out (and the other problem which we discussed yesterday at the altium course ;) with the . and , as separators resulting in way to high prices) I can continue with my 28Pins Project.

Even though I would love to have the prices in euro. Hrmpf.

Good to know it now works :)

I think it should work in EUR too .. but I almost always only use USD as components are almost always bought in USD. So I can not say 100% what the problem with EUR could be :(

PS: yes, you were not the first one having troubles with . and , :)
