Title: Polygon plane connections
Post by: chikenlover89 on August 02, 2017, 12:28:34 pm
Hello!

I have stumbled upon a problem with altium designer, polygon plane connections to corresponding net are completely random as you can see in the image attached . The highlighted net is GND.  Some pads and vias are connected to polygon plane, some are not. And it does not even show unrouted net as if it was normal. I deleted all the design rules - didnt help. Any ideas?

You don't want to delete all rules. Altium requires a rule to dictate the behavior of the planes. When you go and re-pour a plane, it defines the plane from the rules. You will want to make sure that Your Plane>>Polygon Connect Style rule is properly defined. You will also want to make sure you have your electrical clearances properly defined. Interesting issue though, I am curious what the actual problem is. If the design isn't proprietary or confidential, you should share the pcbdoc so i can play with it.

Are there any traces hiding under that polygon?  (I like transparent view for this reason, among others.)  The "don't pour over same net objects" property of the polygon can do weird things.

You also seem to have unconnected tracks.
I would pour the GND at the end of the design, first connect everything and run first DRC for overview.

Update, it works completely fine if I make a direct connection.
