Solidworks PCB, powered by Altium

Anyone try this? Is this just an extension and you still need to download Altium anyways? Or is it a stand alone product?

They have 2 packages. One inside a solidworks package and one that ports Altium to and from SW.
There is a 50min youtube and I did not like it at all. But I am a Mentor(Seimens now) Pads-Pcb user for ~25 years.

We had a rep come in and talk about this.

The libraries are crippled in the SW edition and the price is no less than AD!

I'd bet updates / bugfixes would lag the main branch as well!

You'd be mad...

Does the PCB Connector work with other MCAD systems, besides Solidworks?

If not, how do I interface say with PTC/CREO.  Would I just use STEP models or is there a IDX/ecad-mcad collaboration interface?

TIA...
