View PCB in 2D and 3D at the same time
« on: September 20, 2018, 02:49:34 pm »
In Altium Designer 17 (and 18?) is it possible to have two instances of a PCB open at the same time where one is showing the board in 3D and the other is showing it in 2D (for placing traces etc) ?
I think the answer is "no", I have not been able to find this info anywhere but thought it would be better to ask here :)

I can't speak for Altium, but I know you can do it in OrCAD. It's not a new feature, but there is an animated GIF on the Sneak Peek page for the next release that shows it: https://www.orcad.com/sneak-peek

**Full disclosure, I work for Cadence. :scared:
