Workplace of the week?

So what do people think of this idea? Do you think anyone will actually submit their workplace? Or are most listeners closet Amp Hour fanatics?

I think you should expand it to workbench of the week, commercial or hobbyist.  :-)

I don't know how many will submit, but all the years I worked at Motorola cameras of any kind were strictly forbidden and getting caught taking pictures was grounds for immediate termination (yeah, kinda draconian).

Maybe you should consider making workSPACE of the week to include the at-home folks.

All I know for sure is I won't send you a pic of mine any time soon. It looks like several bombs went off in there, and it would be pretty embarrassing compared to Dave's neat-as-a-pin shop!  :)
I'm either at my bench, here, or on PokerStars.

I am kind of in the boat with what John said.  I can't even have my cell phone in certain areas and what isn't classified to the government is proprietary to the company. :(

But I do some super interesting shit!  I'd be willing to verbally share where I work :P

My workspace at home is mediocre for right now.  I am finally making some good money so hopefully that will change soon.

I like the idea of a Lab of the Week!

After all, for me, my lab is my workplace. :)

I'm currently between gigs as they say. When I am working, I'm a Linux/UNIX system administrator, not in electronics.

Most of the places I've worked have been company data centres which are pretty boring as it's just row upon row of locked, grey cabinets with no way of knowing what's in them. Some of these places are huge though.
Security is pretty tight and all mobile phones whether they have a camera or not, are banned. All doors are locked and need a security guard to provide access - no swipe or proximity cards are used.
When you are allowed in to work on a system, you are granted access to a particular cabinet or groups of cabinets and you're not allowed to be anywhere accept in proximity to those cabinets otherwise you're escorted from the premises. On the plus side, the guards are not armed  :)

University bench of the week?  :P
Just finished a mini-lab with a Robonova, controlling it through an iPhone - not that impressive really but impresses the foreign MSc students who have little experience programming and even less lab time  ;)

University bench of the week is alright...how about you just include how many hours you spend in front of it for a sense of how much you use  it versus others (i.e. a grad student will have a different situation than a first year EE). How about this: If you don't know what everything on the bench does, wait until you do to send in a picture of you in front of it. Sound fair? :)
