16 bit ADC
« on: December 11, 2017, 09:15:14 am »
Hi guys,

I have been looking for a 16bit  , 20ksps+, 2.7v, single-endes, SPI adc for a while. I have found a bunch but all of them have such small footprints!

I was wondering if anyone knows a good non obsolete 16bit ADC in the 5-10 dollar range I can hand solder. Or maybe some tips on how to narrow down my search. I have spent some time here and no luck.

I don't care about the package, just want to maximize footprint size. Hopefully in the 1mm range.

What is the A/D being connected to ? Do you need a processor
as well, one with 20 bit A/D onboard and an onboard reference ?

I'm in the middle of a project using a LTC2641. I'm using the 12-bit version, but I think the 16-bit version would fit your requirements. The pin pitch is .65mm, so less than your 1mm suggestion, but I find it easy to solder.

I can't read. I suggested a DAC, not ADC.

AMC1203.  Easy to search on digikey, just select packages SOIC-8/16/.... - 1.27 mm.  Adapter boards SOIC to DIP a few cents on aliexpress.
