A4989 stepper driver with 50V?
« on: September 16, 2016, 04:40:27 pm »
Hi, I have the A4989 chip and I want to build this driver here

http://wiki.germanreprap.com/en/handbuch/powerlolu
https://github.com/fluidfred/powerlolu

This chip suppose to be rated up to 50V, but I have read somewhere that the A4989 is sensitive and even 48V is very much for it.
In the datasheet they have mentioned that it can handle up to 50V and in the Github page also mentioned it can run from 12V to 50V.

I want to run the the motors with 48V,
I know that it is good practice not to run things near their max rated voltage,
Have anyone tried this chip before up to that voltage without any problems?
if what I have wrote doesn't make sense for you or you think there is something wrong, please correct me, I am still beginner and what I know probably less than what you know
