Adding pop filter to audio interface

I have some usb audio interfaces hooked up to powered monitors and a system reboot always makes the monitors produce a loud electrical pop sound from the interface powering on. I wish to add some sort of modification to prevent these pops from being sent out to the speakers since I hate the speakers constantly getting hit with that. Is a relay what I need or something else?
