Analog electronics book recommendations?
« on: February 25, 2015, 01:04:15 pm »
There are many great electronics resources online but the quality varies and it's all so fragmented.. and I like books. I'm looking for a book about analog electronics, but many books aimed for EE students seem to heavily emphasize the theoretical side. Any suggestions for a book starting from slightly above the beginner level and covering broadly the analog design from a practical perspective (with reasonable amount of theory and analysis, but not just that)? "The art of electronics" was great for getting started but it's outdated and it tried to cover everything.. now I'm just looking for the good (analog) stuff with more depth. What is the bible of analog electronics?

The third edition of "The art of Electronics"  will be here soon.
Whatever it is, it should be a must !

My list is here, particularly sections 1 and 3

There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Might want to give Practical Electronics for Inventors a look as well (paperback, so it's inexpensive). FWIW, I've seen the 1st and 2nd editions online as .pdf files that should give you a really good idea if you don't want to just rely on the preview offered on Amazon.

Charles Platt's Encyclopedia of Electronic Components books if you're interested in components; uses, pitfalls,... (Vol. 1 & 2) might also be useful.

There's a couple of others in the same series.
