Analog panel meter fix?

I just got a panel meter in a grab bag  ;D, however i can't adjust the meter to zero. Does anyone know how i might be able to fix it?

So the zero-adjust screw does nothing?
or it adjust the needle but cant get back to zero?

If you take the case off you might be able to fix it, depending on what the problem is.

It will adjust but not go to zero. in the pic it's as close as it will get.

By chance can you adjust the needle to be dead center? If so it may have the wrong faceplate on it.

I can center but it's at the extreme end of the adjustment

I'd take the top off and have a look at the center adjustment.

The spring may have slipped a few turns (hard to fix) or it may have a plastic stop for the adjustment screw which you can easy bypass.

That's why it was in the "grab bag".
If you take the face off,you may find that the extension on the bottom of the coil which is meant to fit over the adjustment pin,is bent,so lacks adjustment.
You may be able to straighten it,or just set the zero & put the face back on.
