are low-esr polymer caps suitable for IC bypassing?

Hello!

I wonder if low-esr polymer electrolytic caps are suitable for bypassing, say, opamps and MCUs. I'm asking because I know paralleling low-esr caps can cause problems due to resonance. So, is it advisable to put polymer caps in parallel with normal 0.1uF MLCC?

Has anyone tried to do any actual measurements?

Polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors are fine for IC decoupling but usually overkill.  More likely they would be used to decouple IC output power stages like MOSFET gate drivers and switching regulators.
