ask about electric devices
« on: November 18, 2013, 04:00:53 pm »
1. The value of that resistor? How many watt it is ? How we read the code printed on resistor?

2. The capacitor's color is yellow, the brandname is ELNA, the printed codes on it are: 10V 16uF, +85*C, S (in a circle) . Is it a special capacitor ?(cause its color is yellow). When replace it with new capacitor what parametter i shoud care (beside Volt and uF). It's used near op-amp.
Thank you.

The resistor has 0.22 ohms which is printed nicely. The "J" means +/5% tolerance (please see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistor#Industrial_type_designation for the details). If no wattage is marked you have to determine it by the size of the resistor. My guess would be 2W.

The cap is a standard electrolytic. If you want to replace it use another one with 16µF and the same or higher voltage rating. The temperature of +85°C gives us the hint that this cap isn't a low ESR one.

Capacitor is standard 10uF 16v.

Feel free to replace with a 105c rated 10uF capacitor, with a voltage rating that can be anything between 16v and.. let's say 50v. The voltage rating doesn't matter as long as it's at least 16v.  No need to use low esr capacitors, I would use something like  Panasonic FC/FK , Nichicon PW, VZ , united chemicon lxy, ky etc

Resistor.. by the size it's at least 2w like madires says.  You can go with higher wattage ratings.
