Motorola Moto X Motherboard Question
« on: February 01, 2018, 04:40:55 pm »
I accidentally ripped two of four connector pads off the motherboard of my phone when I tried to pry off the battery connector. I tried soldering them back into place, but ended up just destroying the battery connector and taking if off. Please see picture. Any way for me to fix it, or should I just give up? BTW, I have zero skills in electronics or soldering, as you can probably tell. Also, I can't seem to find a replacement battery connector for a 2015 Motorola Moto X Pure Edition phone anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Replacement ribbon cables are on ebay. As are replacement motherboards. You can just swap one out if its the same carrier. Otherwise you'd have to transfer the components and hope the boad isn't damaged. Which apparently didn't go so well the first time around.

Do you have phone insurance on your plan? If you do just hit the remains with a mallet a few times and then get it replaced.  :horse:
