Bidirectional current sense IC
« on: June 29, 2015, 05:32:13 pm »
1. I need to select bidrectional current sense to be used as ammeter.
2. Going through some of voltage output IC , to be operated at 3.3V.
3. Since it is ammeter it can high side or low sense or between two loads.
4. Only problem I have found that IC have miminum CMR, e.g 4V. So I need to have minimum voltage of source to measure current. E.g if I have 1V source & load is 100ohm, I won't be able to measure current through it.
5. Best I can found is LMP8601 from TI.
6. Any suggestions on that.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Diodes Inc (formally Zetex) do a range of current sensor devices, I don't know the particular but maybe it's worth a look?

http://www.diodes.com/?q=search&type=0&value=current%20sense

Do you have a block diagram showing your requirement with Voltages and Currents etc, then maybe I can assist further
