Z97-Pro (Wi-Fi ac) Motherboard - help identifying component
« on: February 19, 2021, 05:37:36 pm »
Hi all,

I usually stick to GPU's but managed to get hold of an Asus Z97-Pro motherboard which has difficulties turning on.
The POST codes flicker through and dies without pausing at a specific code. Then proceeds to enter an infinite reboot loop.

I've found a component that seems to be shorted internally - with the motherboard being on for just 2 seconds it was good enough to burn my skin on touch.
As per the title, the marking on the IC is:

29 1B
    L1B

Any ideas on where I could source the datasheet? Asus may have rebranded it but am not sure why they would...

Thanks for the help!

(QFN with xx xx+xxx or xx=xx+xxx is usually Richtek.)
