building in modular sections

Hello , I just wanted to pass on something I found works for me with extreme success, I used to look at circuits and think ,Thats way to difficult ,never going to work that one out, so now I break them down into modular sections and build them that way to,so I can test and work them out bit by bit.I used to think I had to build the boards as  whole, not any more I shield them where needed, and mostly build manhattan style, and I also etch my own boards where necessary. ,my experience may or not help anyone starting out, it works for me,sometimes I do need slightly bigger cases, but what the heck it's for my use not production.
