Can't identify an IC SFC2741DC
« on: January 10, 2015, 09:30:10 am »
Hi all,

I hope someone has seen this before!

I'm repairing a guitar amp for a friend and I can't identify an IC on the board!
The part number (actually all the text) as follows:

SFC2741DC
7837 (I think this may be a date code)

I think its an op amp. I'm trying to find a modern equivalent.
I think a LM741CN would work, but I would like a few more opinions from your respective selves!

Also, its a Carlsbro Hornet amp circa 1970's vintage.

Thank you!

Do you think I haven't tried? Its an old obsolete IC. Can you find the data sheet?

Google seems to indicate it's an op amp made by American MicroSemiconductor. It's probably just a 741 clone or knock-off.

 :palm:
Google "SFC2741DC", first hit: www.datasheetarchive.com/SFC2741DC-datasheet.html...
The first pdf says all that's needed. And if that's not enough for you, the 3rd pdf on the page lists possible replacements.

Thank you all. Much appreciated. I'm a novice and wasn't sure if that 3rd datasheet was as you said it was.

Thanks again
