Capacitor codes like PEI, CL11, CL21, CBB, etc.

I'm looking at film capacitors and see codes like PEI, CL11, CL21, CBB, etc. It looks like these codes describe the type and construction of the capacitor. Are these codes an industry standard or does each manufacture have their own set of codes? Can anyone point me to a document or webpage that explains these codes?
