capacitors form factors
« on: February 23, 2017, 10:59:14 pm »
hi is there a formula/table that, given the capacitance value of a capacitor, gives me the dimensions (and possibly the currently smallest dimensions) such as the volume, of the available off-the-shelf capacitors?

You can get most in nearly any form factor/size, just go on a component distributor such as Farnell or Digikey, go to the capacitors filter by your desired capacitance and check the remaining sizes on the filter and choose from there. That would be the easiest way to do it.

Don't forget to include the working voltage.

For a given capacitance, they tend to get bigger with increased voltage.
