CD4026
« on: November 18, 2016, 02:23:01 am »
Here is yet another question that makes me feel like an idiot, with the cd4026 i built a test circuit to become more familiar with how it works. My circuit works but what i cant figure out is that it doesn't just tick, if i get it counting it will stay counting but i have to jump start it by pressing my fingernail into its side which works for a test circuit (if not finicky) but is obviously impractical in a clock. My top two ideas are that it either needs a large value decoupling capacitor, i tried 1 nf to no avail, or i missed something important. I'm using my arduino to pulse it if that matters for this question.

EDIT: i solved it

A hopeless addict (and slave) to TEA and a firm believer that high frequency is little more than modern hoodoo.
