Cheap intl. online sources for good caps?
« on: March 24, 2014, 10:31:46 am »
Are there are known trustworthy online stores for good caps, with good prices and cheap international shipping?

Tayda, Futurelec, and similar stores, either don't have much of a cap selection or just carry generic/unknown ones.

There are some on eBay, from sellers with >99% rating, but I don't know if those caps are authentic (e.g., Rubycon MCZ, or Panasonic FJ).

Digikey.com .ca  (if you buy a lot, you get free shipping) - they may have UK shipping at some point if not already, not sure

Mouser.com - US but cheap shipping if you buy a lot

Farnell.com (newark.com in US, element14.com in some other places)

RS-Online.com

distrelec.com

and there's others but I can't remember them right now.

Tip: find a part you're interested in, get the part code and search for it in findchips.com and then see those companies' shipping policies.

That seller does indeed have a good rating.

But I wonder how can one tell if the caps are authentic.

Well, if you want just a few capacitors and you're in Europe or close to Europe, pm me.

I buy stuff from Farnell regularly aso i can cover the shipping costs from farnell to me. I can mail you small capacitors for farnell's price (or even lower if i happen to have bought already what you want in quantity), plus 2-3$ shipping (stamps and bubblewrap envelopes)

Just fyi, bought bunch of high performance Sanyo OSCON solid caps from this seller, and they're all genuine and perform as specification.

Thanks mariush! See PM.

BravoV, how did you verify their authenticity? That various signs point to a trustworthy seller, but those "short leaded" caps he sells do suggest something odd, at least for these specific caps.
