Commercial name for common headers
« on: September 14, 2016, 07:55:26 pm »
Just curious.  I am having a hard time searching on Mouser / Digikey / Newark for common headers which in eBay/Alixpress are normally referred to as male/female pin headers, like

http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/10PCS-16-Pin-1x16P-2-54mm-Long-Leg-11mm-Single-Row-Female-Straight-Header-Pin/32720206598.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000017.1.otUPry

I know in a purist sense, the female would not be pins, but again...

try - http://www.mouser.com/Connectors/Headers-Wire-Housings/_/N-ay0lo?P=1yzmo3uZ1yy4gdp&Keyword=header&FS=True

Jeff, thanks for helping, but it is odd.   If I select "Stocked" and "Socket(Female)" for Gender, and then do "Apply filters" I get only 12 parts, and if I further narrow it to 2.54mm there are only 2 parts.   It does not make any sense to me.

Sometimes the filters do goofy things. I'll sometimes find the part type I want and try to figure out what category it is in and search that category. If that fails I pull out the printed catalog which is much easier to search by picture :)

.... and I've seen this on more than one site.
