constant current source
« on: October 26, 2013, 09:49:56 am »
hello, good day everyone. this is my first post.  :D

is there possible we make a circuit that has a constant current source combine with constant voltage based on LM 317 IC?

i think those circuit is very common and simple, so i dont attach both schema. i dont mind if you ask me to attach the schema what i refer to.

Yes It is possible, what type of input and outputs are you looking for?

Here is an example for 5A output.

Sometime when I am alone I Google myself!!!

the input is 220v AC step down by transformer to 12v 12v CT. so after bridge diode and filter caps i get around 25-26v? i want the output 1.2v-24v and adjustable current up to 3A. i have TL082 op amp these maybe i can using it.
i dont have a good circuit analysis knowledge. im still learn it but i am need an adjustable psu to powering my experiment project because im learn by doing person type. it is easier to learn by practice a simple circuit. i have made adjustable psu 1.2-24v but it has low Amp that i needed, so i want to rebuild it. i know that LM317 has max 1.5A to flowing. i can purchase LM338 that up to 5A.

this is looks like a dumb question. but i wanna know is that possible we get a higher amp from lower amp transformer amplified by transistor? ex 500mA transformer to make an output 1A?

a little feedback please to help me (noob).
