I have this weird looking component attached to the positive terminal of a sealed lead acid battery,
Could you please help me identify it, what is it? and what is it for?

looks to me like a polyfuse but i'm not sure!

Yeah that's probably it,
I also looked for resettable fuse packages and they look somewhat similar.
