Critique: Stepper Driver
« on: May 05, 2014, 05:38:40 pm »
Hello friends,

I just had a go at making a stepper motor driver using a combination of ST's L297 and L298,
but since I'm not very good at this stuff yet I'd appreciate if anybody could have a look at my circuit/pcb and tell me what they think about it.

Thanks in advance :)

Ps: Is it critique or criticize if used as a verb?

to criticize is to complain about, to offer critique is to offer constructive criticism

The driver can switch 3 amps. That is something, you should properly bypass, with a bigger capacitor. I've read the datasheet, and I've seen the typical application there. Still, if you look at the example, they have a 470uF capacitor there, I suggest you do the same.
