Custom Rigol Boot Screen?

I'm planning to get a Rigol DS1054Z, and I'm recommending it to a colleague who works for a local college. He's happy that it has a Kensington Lock, but he wants to know if they can customize the boot screen to indicate that it belongs to the school. Is this possible? Where do I find out how?

Best thing is always to carve the owners name into the unit with a soldering iron. If you can replace the boot screen, so can a thief.

People can sand down and fill what you carve with a soldering iron, and put a sticker over the top. You need to use two part epoxy to bond the scope to the bench is you want some security.

You're preaching to the choir. He's not looking for suggestions. He says changing the boot screen will help him get funding. Try convincing the committee who makes up the rules for getting funding approval.

I know you can on the DP832 power supply and I vaguely remember in one of daves videos he had the startup screen as the eevblog logo on his 1054z, however I can't remember ever seeing it in the menus / setup.

I have. New 1054z that I just purchased for use at home that I need to set up,I'll have a look and see if it's mentioned anywhere.

As we all know, the security stuff will only stop the honest people. As for how the funding department make their choices, I've seen wierder things go on with decision making.
