Can someone recommend a synchronous dc boost/buck converter?
« on: February 01, 2016, 04:12:14 am »
The title is mostly self exploratory, does anyone know of a boost/buck converter I can buy? or help me build one?
I want something similar to the LTC3780s from china, with about a 1V to 30V range for input and output but something higher spec such as the LT8705 would be nice too and I need it to be very efficient as I plan on using this for charging/discharging batteries, but I also need current control as I plan on using it as a portable bench power supply.

Why do I need this and not any of the hundreds of dc converters on ebay? well I have a small solar system with a couple lead acid batteries and I'll often want a lot of different voltages, as high as 19.5V to charge my laptop or as low as 5V to charge power banks, phones, etc.. for example thus I need something that can both boost and buck but of course since I'm dealing with batteries I also need that high efficiency so I don't throw away over 10% of my power through heat alone.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
