Hi Everyone,
i need to desolder this Cap 400v 33uF i'm not an expert so i ask what i should take care? i need to short it before desoldering ??

From my experience these low uf caps will lose it's charge a few minutes after power is switched off but
if you can't wait then use a 500 - 1K ohm 5 watt white ceramic power resistor with uncut and heatshrinked sleeved leads to discharge safely. If very big caps use safety eye goggles.

measure the voltage at the capacitors pins, using a multimeter. it should be near zero if it's been off for years.

Small incandescent lamps make fun capacitor discharge devices which allow the user to see the results; just pick an appropriate voltage rated lamp. Also an analog meter will slowly discharge a capacitor; but I may have just revealed my age.

With any capacitor having voltages that could hurt, be aware of the phenomenon known as "dielectric absorbtion" or "soakage". The effects are as if an isolated capacitor slowly "recharges itself" after being discharged.
