Diode Marking
« on: February 24, 2014, 01:51:09 am »
I have seen diode and rectifiers with three different markings on the negative side:

1. A solid (usually silver) color line all around the diode at the negative end
2. A broken (or should I say dotted?) line around the diode at the negative end
3. A pair of broken lines lines around the diode at the negative end

These different markings must mean something.  Searching for "diode marking" just isn't helping me finding the answer...

Help appreciated
Rick

To my knowledge, no, they all mean one thing ...  "this is the cathode"
