Does iOS and Android provide a service for their alarm clocks?

So, this is annoying for me to ask:

Does iOS and Android provide a service for their alarm clock notification?
I've tried to research it, but I'm none the wiser.

This is just to find out if I can make our bedroom LED lights fade in when either of our phones ask us kindly to wake up...
Seeing as it's 3AM now, I'm still looking for something to help me sleep more than waking up but hey

  If you are going to build a web based dimmer I'd like to know about it, I'm planning on doing something like that too. If that's the case you could implement a phone app to control it which also has a timed mp3 player synchronized with the light scheme of your preference. MIT companion is quite nice to do prototype applications for something like this.
 
  If you have a wifi lamp automating it when the alarm goes on shouldn't be a big deal at all, there are many automation apps around, pick the one.

  If you are looking for something plug and play I don't know the solution, but the one I've just mentioned is quite close.

Making an app is something I'm trying to avoid, but if I must do it then that's OK as I've done that before.
I was hoping that there is a way to make something that 'just works' as an alarm clock based off of for instance the alert notification service. Much like it 'just works' to make, say a BLE music player audio endpoint - as both devices support that out of the box.

When I get some time I'll try to do some quick experiments with my nRF52 devkit and see if I can figure something out.

Tasker (on Android) seems to allow you to select "alarms" as a trigger. This means there must be a notification from Android's built-in alarm available. You could either use it directly, or just write a Tasker script to get it done.

I don't know if this has any interest but you can buy an alarmclock where both sound and light fades up when waking you

I've set up something similar using tasker, using the app AutoAlarm.

At 4am, a script runs which checks when the next alarm is due to go off, and sends that information to an ESP8266 via wifi. That ESP8266 then sends the data to a main controller, which fades up the room's lights  slowly ~10 minutes before the alarm is due to go off.

How about just making a circuit that reacts to the alarm sound or the phone screen (which usually illuminates when the alarm goes off) to fade the lights in? That way it will still work if you swap phones / girlfriends or whatever.

(red added by me)  use the headphone jack so that thunder won't trigger it.
