EAGLE Newbie problem - pins not there?
« on: June 17, 2015, 02:57:11 pm »
Hey guys! So I am trying to learn to use Eagle. I quickly ran into this problem: there don't seem to be power pins on parts? Screenie:

Running ERC whines about lack of Vcc and GND connections. I would connect them if I knew how! :P

How do I deal with this?

Click on the Invoke -button. It looks like four small AND-gates.

On the popup menu select the line with power.

The invoke is also used for adding the other gates in multigste devices like hex inverters and others.

Ah, matseng was faster :D

Or right click on the symbol you added in your schematic and klick invoke. Doesn't matter how you do it.

Wait, does this mean I have to have the power pins separate from the chip?

I mean, I guess it makes sense and in larger designs is probably better to have a power section... but... it's kind of annoying you don't seem to get to choose.

Anyway, thanks!

EDIT: Can I fix the un-readability of the VCC and GND labels?
