Equation Writer For Crib Sheets
« on: November 07, 2017, 06:16:16 pm »
Suppose a STEM class allows the use of a 2 sided sheet of crib notes for exams.  It would seem that a nice way to do this is with some kind of equation writer.  Hand written in pencil is probably the worst solution.

Any thoughts on which equation writer?  The primary platform is Win 10 but Linux isn't out of the question if the features warrant the reboot.

Yes, the class will be part of a EE curriculum.

WORD has an Equation editor.  Tool bar> Insert> right end> pull-down Equation and Symbols.
My guess that Paper and Pencil would take less time than the learning curve. ;)

Use LaTeX, or more accessible, MathJax?  Very pretty results, only somewhat cryptic to write:

\[ x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4 a c} }{2a} \]
