Equivalent Diodes
« on: July 19, 2015, 09:23:45 am »
Howdy,

I'm putting together a JayCar Battery Zapper Kit and I can't find one of the components - it looks like the 1N4761 diode is missing, and they have possibly replaced it with a C75PH.

Is the C75PH equivalent to the 1N4761??

I've done a bit of Googling and to me it doesn't look they they are - but I'd value your opinions?

Should I solder in the C75PH where the 1N4761 should go??

Thanks :)

I can't find much on the C75PH but they both appear to be zeners.

If it came in the Jaycar kit then there should be a note somewhere in there about a substitution. If not you can always call them, but if the data sheet specs are close enough I'd just run it. If it's the zener in the battery zapper kit then it's not super critical anyway (I re-read that particular silicon chip article last night as luck would have it).
