Facia Removal On Hameg HM605
« on: October 05, 2018, 11:16:02 am »
Hi all

Just got my first scope and it needs a good clean. I have removed the smaller knobs as they unscrew but...
does anyone know how to remove this knob as I want to clean the face-plate and everything else as it has years of crud on it from previous owners YUK

Also cannot find anywhere a service manual for this in English anyone got any links or have a PDF that they would be willing to share?

Cheers

I will ask my first stupid question of the day, you did look all around the knob for a setscrew, right?  I don't have a Hameg but my Tek 2465 has setscrews in the large knobs.

Yup no screws anywhere.

I have put reasonable force on it thinking it is on splines etc. but it didn't budge :-(

There is a small disc of plastic that you have to remove from inside the knob which will reveal its mounting nut :-)
