I have FVF-SC2 FlukeView Forms software, and there is option for factory reset for DMM Fluke 189. I think that it can do the same job for Fluke 789. You can try with Hyperterminal or better alternatives, but you have to do some investigation to find right command for that option. After that you can to write some script/text file and send it to Fluke789.

But, there are Fluke "short-cut" options for some another Fluke instruments:

Fluke scope meters 123/124:
1. Turn off instrument
2.Press and hold "backlight" key
3.Press and release "on/off" key (instrument will turn on and should hear double beep)
4.Release "backlight" key
end

Fluke 43: device is turn off
1.Press and hold "HOLD/RUN" key
2.Press and hold "ON/OFF" key (should hear double beep)
3.Release "HOLD/RUN" key
end

Fluke 187/189 (problem is "SETUP" key at 789...):
1.Turn on instrument
2.Press "YELLOW"(SET) key and "BACKLIGHT" key (in that order!)
3.Continuously step 2 (should see different text on the screen) until appear "Fcty" on the screen
4.You should see flashing "no"; choose between "yes" or "no" with "BACKLIGHT"(left) key and "BLUE" (right) key
5.Final step is press "YELLOW" (SET) key
----------------------------------------
Note:If you want to step back, press "YELLOW" key and "%" key (CANCEL option).
