Fakra connectors?
« on: October 19, 2018, 06:32:31 pm »
Hi.
Anyone know about fakra connectors?
I want to change the stereo in my Jeep. It has a white fakra connector for the fm radio. The white adaptor cables seem to be hard to find here (UK)
Are the other colours the same size pin with the plastic cases all being keyed differently? Or are all the colours pins and barrels various sizes?

Thanks.

Mouser has 181 different connectors. With 14 different colors.

In my experience the terminations are identical, just the connector receptacle is keyed differently - there may be some crossover in the keying between colours, I don't recall

If you're in a pinch it probably wouldn't be too difficult to modify the key with a dremel or similar

I was hoping to remove the plastic housing or make it fit.. Thanks. I'll try.

Turns out the water green is universal.
