Field strength measurement
« on: April 02, 2015, 12:31:07 pm »
I have RF Explorer with it's standard antenna. RF Explorer shows received power in dBm and dBuV but not field strength in dBuV/m.

This is to check the radiated emission from an electronic equipment. The power radiated by the equipment is unknown.

The antenna supplied with RF explorer is un-caliberated Nagoya antenna. So can any one please tell me a practical way to find this?

You would need an antenna with known/calibrated frequency response (antenna factor vs. frequency), and then a means to import those antenna factors into the RF Explorer (if it has that feature), then make measurements at a specific distance, etc.  There is a reason why emissions compliance measurements cost money - equipment and setup is expensive to do it accurately.
