First power supply purchase suggestions.
« on: December 01, 2016, 03:21:58 pm »
I know it's been discussed before but I don't feel like reviving an old thread so here it is.
For a while I've been using chinese power supply kits from ebay ,bare psu modules, atx psus, various step up/down converters, diy supplies etc but I think it's time to get a 'proper' lab psu.

I'll probably buy a used one of a known manufacturer.
I'm in Europe so 230V only.
A convenient voltage range would be 0-30V or maybe up to 50v  and constant current feature (I don't think I need more than 2A)
Other requirement would be a LCD screen and it has to be a linear and hopefully  without a fan!
I wouldn't mind the dual or triple output although price might be an issue for that since my budget is about 150-200$.

I've been looking at used HP power supplies on ebay but there are too many models to choose from..
I've been reading that not all HP power supplies are easily repairable so I'd like one that could be easier to troubleshoot if anything's wrong.
