Fluke 1AC II flux meter
« on: September 02, 2012, 07:09:54 pm »
Hi,
I have a flux meter Fluke 1AC-A II (sentivity range 90 - 1000 VAC). This item work.
But I do not understand its flux measuring.

Eg, I have a battery-powered phone/speaker connect via usb/audio to my laptop. This laptop is in turned connected to an AC source. The phone/speaker is at least 10" away from the laptop.

The flux meter gives continuous beep when placed near to the speaker or phone. It's only when the AC source to laptop is turned OFF then the beeping goes off.

Why is that so ?
Does that mean that there are min 90 AC voltage inside those battery-powered devices when they are connected to a laptop ?

Advice appreciated. Rgds.

Sounds like your PSU is very leaky, does it have a earth connection? It might be that your earth is miswired ...
