FLUKE 5100B up to 19.999V ac and dc only. please help.

Hi good day,

   i have some question about fluke 5100B. So far we can only use it up to 19.999V ac and V dc. When we try it 20V and up and press OPT, the display says OL. Can you please help us. Thank you. Sorry for my english.

Number one suspect is the A17 Power Amplifier.  It works with ac voltages.  For DCV, A17 gets fed 1 kHz and the output goes to A16 which rectifies and filters it.  It would be easier to troubleshoot if extender cards were available.

Hi, I already saw the A16 and A17, we dont have a card extender. What particular part of it what needed to be checked and repaired? And please give us some procedure to troubleshoot it. Thank you very much.

Does it work at:
20 V, 10 kHz
AC or DC Current at 100 mA
AC or DC Current at 1 A

I'd read the theory of operation (section 3) of the manual.  Page 4-45 of the 5100B manual has a troubleshooting table, although without an extender it would be much more time consuming, even if possible.

No. up 19.999V only. Any suggestion so we can use it even the voltage function only. Thank you.
