I have a couple of 2 meter long galvanised ground stakes about ten feet apart as my station earth. I want to operate on LF (136kHz) and need better grounding for my vertical antenna with a horizontal loop wire top hat for capacitance. What performance difference would running radials or long perimeter ground wires in insulated or bare wire make at that frequency, any? If none or not a lot, what frequency would you see a benefit with bare conductors at?

Thanks.
Best regards,

Use the bare ones, more surface area in contact with the ground.
Wet ground is a better earth also. a little salt around them will also help but they won't last very long that way.

Don't worry about it.  Go with what's best suited for the elements.
