Hantek DSO4204C
« on: March 09, 2018, 01:22:29 am »
This is 389 right now in circuit specialists. Anyone have experience with it and have good or bad to say about it? After all the experience they had with the 5202P I would think that Hantek already have ironed out most bugs that the firmware had? I comes with serial decoding and CAN decoding. The Rigol does not have CAN decoding and I still keep reading about the Rigol serial decoding problems. The Hantek memory is not that much compared to others. I have only seen 2 videos of a russian guy in youtube with the model that do not have the signal generator, the B variant and he gives it a thumbs up. The FFT function looks much better in the Hantek than in the Rigol and I will be using that. 200Mhz, 4 channel and 389 with free shipping sounds really good to me. Anyone could give some advice?  :)Thanks.

That's $40 cheaper than AliExpress.. hmmm
Controls look a little bit more sparse (ha, what do I know.. my 200Mhz Kikusui has more buttons than a Cadillac Escalade)

An advantage that I see with them is that they have a 3 year warranty with CS here in the USA. That price is only good until next week. I guess it will go them to their market 499 price. I never heard of Kikusui before. Also from aliexpress???

Well, anyone? Have anyone actually ordered or tested it? They have already sold 6 of them since I posted this. I do not want to run out of a good offer if it is worth it. No good or bad experiences with Hantek 4 channels to chime in??

Yes. I did see it. His statements are kind of fishy and some of them you can see that are user's error. Read the comments on the video. He bought it straight from China on Aliexpress. He is not from the USA. I wonder why he have not sent it back, because Hantek in Aliexpress have at least one year warranty, and most aliexpress retailers also give your money back in the first 30 days. Why have he not opened a dispute with Aliexpress or a warranty claim with Hantek??? I am not saying it can not happen, but why instead of trying to return it and get a resolution he is wasting time making videos?I think this is the second video he posts about it. I also compared with the russian videos of the B model of that oscilloscope, and all of them seem fine. This guy is not a EE or tech, he is a programmer. I dont know if he read the manual or know what he is looking for. I am also looking at the fact that CS have a satisfaction return policy, and a 3 year warranty serviced here in the USA. They claim both in their page and Amazon that they had sold thousands of the DSO5000 series, and have 4 and 5 stars reviews. Am I to think that ALL of them are fake, or in the other hand that all of them do not work properly? I was just reading last night about the Rigol and Siglent. The Rigol still have not fixed the RMS measurement.which in my opinion is more important, since it is an accuracy error that can lead you to improper conclusions. The Siglent is not much better regarding problems and that little stunt I just read they tried to do to a customer, when he tried to sell his own oscilloscope on ebay. Really, what I am seeing is that ALL of them in this price range have very serious problems. The only difference is that some brands have more fans than others. Thanks for bringing that video up. I would like to see if someone that actually ordered or have the scope could give me some input of hands on experience. I guess that if I want no problems at all I would have to at least buy the cheapest Keysight and be restricted to 50 MHZ and no serial decoding.

This is the video from the russian guy, he have several.  He said he found a few bugs but after the latest firmware update everything is working as is supposed to.
