Help me identify this component? Thanks

This component is a unknown to me.  With the attached picture, what are the two big black blocks with 101 labeled on them?

That picture is not the picture of my actual component but look exactly like mine - mine is not in a position to take good pictures.

Mine has 330 printed on where this similar component has 101 printed.   Are they inductors?  transformers?  alien eggs?

Thanks!  That was what I thought, but I was not sure.  When I last looked closely at components closely, SMD was yet unknown and fastest Intel CPU's was the 8086...

you are certainly welcome, and I know how you feel about the technology/age gap, I still use windows 3.1< the only operating system ever made that was worth a crap.

Ah, the LM2596 module.. Wonderful devices, and cheap as chips too!
